## Schema.org Service

**Type**: `defineService(input?: Service)`

Describes a service offering (distinct from physical products).

## Required properties

- **name** `string`<br />

The name of the service.

## Recommended Properties

- **serviceType** `string`<br />

The type of service (e.g., "web design", "plumbing", "consulting", "legal advice").
- **provider** `NodeRelations<Person | Organization | string>`<br />

Who provides the service. Resolves to [Person](/docs/schema-org/api/schema/person) or [Organization](/docs/schema-org/api/schema/organization).
- **areaServed** `string`<br />

Geographic area where the service is provided (e.g., "United States", "San Francisco", "Global").
- **offers** `NodeRelations<Offer>`<br />

Pricing information for the service. Resolves to Offer.

- **description**: `currentRouteMeta.description` *(see: Schema.org Params)*
- **image**: `currentRouteMeta.image` *(see: Schema.org Params)*

You can specify a subtype using the `@type` property.
